Keep it entertaining and brief. Any speech that goes beyond 5 minutes, unless you really are a good public speaker, could be a bit boring for the audience. So try to keep your speech short, entertaining and naturally funny.

Refrain from drinking any drink with alcohol. Don’t allow yourself near the punch bowl until after you have delivered your speech. Usually, although alcohol can calm you, it ruins the speech, letting you to be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
